Masculine Home Office

Project Overview:

This homeowner wanted a masculine home office with maximum storage that allowed for multiple users, including guests when needed. A rarely used home gym was converted to this office. The client requested wood floors. While the golf course view was beautiful, it was important to control the sun in the afternoon.

Hardwood floors appropriate for basement installation was installed in a wide plank dark brown. Area rugs break down this large space into zones. The walls were painted taupe. The designer created a central work area with a work table in a distressed gray finish. This allows the homeowner to enjoy the view outside or a ball game on TV. Extra chairs are handy for guests. There is a full wall of filing and bookshelf storage with another work surface against one wall. The opposite wall has a TV/media cabinet with storage for printers and modems. A charcoal stained chest with metal accents provides more storage, including a bar. When the homeowner needs a break, a comfortable recliner is nearby with motorized vertical roller shades to control the afternoon sun.
