Project Overview:

Creating a furniture layout to incorporate existing pieces that allowed flow while maximizing seating space was key to the development of this design. Bringing in a variety of new textured through new upholstered seating and an organic patterned wool rug helped maintain a comfortable casualness to the space that is welcoming no matter who the guest is. The built-ins were painted a calming green/blue to establish a connection with the adjacent kitchen.

The built-ins provide a beautiful display space and flank a stone fireplace that brings a literal and figurative warmth to the room. Motorized roller shades are programmed to close whenever glare would create a problem with the television and still allow for natural light at other times. Abstract landscape artwork provides a nod to the streamlined traditional feel present throughout this new build home.
